These are my favorite sites, that I've bookmarked. Most
pertain to the Marine Corps, both official and non-official. Others
are friends web sites, or just sites I've found interesting. Just
click on the site (in blue, or purple) and enjoy!!
"MARINE CORPS

- The Marine Guest Book
- Click on it, go to the page, fill in your information, and
look up long lost buddies. It's fantastic.
- USMC Vietnam Helicopter
Assoc. (Pop-A-Smoke)
- If you served in helicopters, it's a must!! My squadron patch
photos came from Pop-A-Smoke.
- The Meadow
Years
- What can i say? Patriotic to the extreme. Gunny Fallon....you've
done and are doing a fantastic job! This is one Viet vet who
says "Thanks, and well done!" Gunny Fallon is another
fellow Marine I need to thank for his encouragement and help
on my WEB page.
- Al's Vietnam
Home Page
- Another great Viet-Nam site, featuring HMH-361. Great work,
Al, and thanks for the tons of help on my page! :-)) Al recently
returned from Pop-A-Smoke's reunion in Pensacola, and has many
neat photo's of the re-union, and sea stories to tell. He has
also incorporated a message forum that you can look for long-lost
buddies on, or just get something off your chest.
- Dale and Mary's
Very Personal Home Page
- Dale is a pro at this, and his WEB page shows it. He covers
a myriad of topics including MIA's and HMM-262.
- Gunny Mike's Salute
- For and about Marines. Great job Gun's.
- NAM Tales
- Humorous and enriching tales of "The Nam." Yes,
there were some.
- Parris Island
- This is the site of ex-Marine drill instructor, Gene Alvarez.
Just knowing he was on the drill field when I was at Parris Island,
and he knew my Senior Drill Instructor, sends cold chills up
my spine! LOL Just joking, Gene! But, I really gotta admit, seeing
a Smokey the Bear hat still fills me with awe...even today! For
every Marine who ever stepped foot on a recruit depot's drill
field, go to Gene's page and see what it was like for the D.I.
You might also want to buy a copy of his book "Parris Island:
Cradle of the Corps." I bought it, read it, and it sure
did bring back memories. It traces the complete history of Parris
Island. Gene did a great job.
- Drew's
World of Choppers
- Drew was a Recon Marine.....oooh-rah! He enlisted right after
Viet-Nam. He has a great page on helicopters (photos abound),
an R&R page and links to many chopper sites. Check it out!
- Dunc1's
Page
- WW2 brought home. Dunc relates his WW2 experiences, both
humorous and deadly serious. I really enjoy his page. Keep up
the great work, Dunc!
- My
USMC Memoirs
- This is a site in progress and it sure is looking promising.
F.E. "Jim" DeVine is from "Ye Olde Corps,"
circa mid 40's. I know he'd appreciate it if you would check
his site out and let him know you appreciate his efforts. Semper
Fi, Jim!
- "A FAMILY
OF MARINES"
- The Marine Corps.....a great family tradition. Check out
Silver Star recipient Ben Drake's family. He also has a great
Christian site "Christian
Friends," you might like to check out. I highly recommend
it.
- "BONNIE-SUE:
A Marine Helicopter Squadron in VIETNAM."
- This is a book wtitten by Lt. Marion F. Sturkey of HMM-265.
It is an absolutely fantastic book about helo squadrons in Viet-Nam.
Any Marine who served in the Nam (or anywhere else) should have
this book in their library. Great job "El-Tee." Ask
him to autograph it for you.
-
"HMM-364 (Viet-Nam) "The Purple Foxes" "
- Franklin A. Gulledge Jr. (Uncle Frank) volunteered (I always thought
officers were smarter then that. LOL) to build this web page, and he
is doing an excellent job. He is compiling a squadron history of the
Purple Foxes in Nam. He needs our input. He has a squadron roster
also, incorporated on the page. Go to the page and if you notice names
missing or incorrect information, let him know. This is NOT an easy
task for him. Any Purple Foxer's out there need to view the page and
offer him encouragement. As for me......"Well done, Uncle Frank!"
- "The
Hooch"
- Fred Stith is the webmaster of this page. He's done a terrific
job. Another great page dedicated to the operations of a Marine
helicopter squadron (HMM-164) in country. Lot's of in-country photos.
- "1st Battalion/
3rd Marines"
- The home page of 1/3. It is a well designed and very interesting
page. As a member of HMM-163, I was aboard the U.S.S. Okinawa, along with
1/3, in 1967/68. It was an unit to be proud of. We came together again
at Quang Tri, when the base was officially opened. We sure were happy
to see them come as security for the base. We knew we could count on
them.
- "9th Marine
Amphibious Brigade - Life's A Beach."
- John Scott created a great page here. It answers a lot of
questions that people have asked about the Viet-Nam war and it's
veterans. To be more specific, it corrects a lot of misconceptions. I
found I had actually bought into a lot of the supposed facts the anti-
war protestor's had promulgated.

- "ARMY ORIENTED
SITES:"
-
- Gunner
Jim's AIRBORNE Website
- Gunner Jim is a full blooded Seneca Indian. He served with
the 101st Airborne during Nam. His site contains Indian, as well
as military features. I enjoy visiting.
- BLACKOWL'S
Home Page
- Pastor William "BlackOwl" Rupert's site. BlackOwl
is a native American, pastor and a Nam vet. Those are fantastic
credentials in themselves. His page is fairly new, and I know
he'd be proud for you to drop by, visit and sign his guest book.
He, along with "Gunner Jim," were "Screamin' Eagle's."
-
-
-
- "AIR FORCE
ORIENTED SITES:"
-
- George
and Faye Crofton's Home Page
- No, this is NOT a page oriented toward Marines. And George
Crofton is not a Marine. BUT, he shoulda been. He is a ret'd
USAF M/Sgt. and his home page is one of the most patriotic I've
gazed upon. It has fantastic graphics and music. Don't miss it!
George made the composite photo of me on my opening page. He
added the Marine Corps emblem and the chevrons to the photo Charlie
Marsh sent me. Semper Fi, George!
- Hawk's Page
- This is a page written by an ex-air force fighter pilot,
who was shot down and spent years as a guest of the North Vietnamese
government as a P.O.W. Don't miss it.
-
"NAVY ORIENTED
SITES:"
- The
BOB WEB
- This is the site of an ex-Sailor who served in the Gulf War
aboard the U.S.S. Ranger as a member of "the real Top Gun
FIGHTER SQUADRON ONE (aka Wolfpack)." He makes some interesting
and thought provoking statements. He also wrote a book. Check
it out. He now lives in Germany.
-
bobbymeister's Home Page
- This is the home page of an ex-Sailor who lives close to me in
Red Lion, Pa. He has a very interesting site which includes an area
dedicated to the servicemen, from York County, Pa., whose names
appear on the Viet-Nam Memorial Wall. You can click on their names
and get more info about them. It is no longer JUST a name. Very
interesting site. While there, check out his many links....great info.
-
- "All Services:"
-
- Point
Man International Ministries
- The name of this site is self explanatory. You owe it to
yourself to check it out.
- Soldiers
of the Cross
- This site is the result of Vietnam vet Larry "Doc"
Stanberry's efforts. He is now a prison chaplain who works with
many incarcerated Nam vets. He served with the FIRST AIR CAV
AIRMOBILE C co. 1/12th in Cambodia and the lll corps area during
his tour in Viet Nam. If you have time to spare and are interested
in his works, you might want to contact him at his web site.
- "Hardcharger Apparel"
- This commercial web site is operated by Paul B. Missett (USMC).
I believe we should support our fellow veterans who have started
businesses. So if you are looking for that apparel to display, for
all to see, your branch of service, check this site out.
- "The Battle Zone"
- Another commercial web site. If you are looking for military
patches, pins, medals, etc, this is a good site to check out. It
also offers a place to buy, sell or trade military items. I've not
quite gone through all there is to offer, but i've already found
HMM-364's (The Purple Foxes) squadron patch. There are division, wing,
and many other patches. Check it out.
"My Friends
Sites:"
- "Zolt"
- This is my good friend Zolt's page. He produces WEB pages
for a living. He has been encouraging me and helping me since
we first met on the net via "iplaynet." That is a site
to play games, like spades and hearts. He lives in Canada, and
served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He is a true friend, and
i hope to be able to repay him for all of his help, cause it's
sure been one-sided to this point. Thanks, Zolt.
- Celeb's
WEB Page
- When I lived in Sandy, Utah, there was a hardware store that
advertised, "If we don't have it, you don't need it."
That pretty well describes Celeb's WEB site. I downloaded almost
all of my music (midi) from her web page. If her site looks professional,
her husband is Zolt! :-)) She has a lot of freeware, and just
general information on her site. Visit her. You'll be glad you
did.
- Family Ties
- This is one of my MOST favorite WEB sites. Might have something
to do with being my son-in-law and daughter's WEB site. :-))
Jeramie and Tonja have done a great job. Jeramie is turning pro.
It is a family site designed in the main for the Gentzler and
Kramer families, but you are more than welcome to visit at any
time. You can see many family pictures there, and read about
the family doin's. Honest, i ain't REALLY that ugly!
- JTWeb: Design and Hosting
- This is my son-in-law's web site. He will help you set up
your own web page for business or personal use. Again, I may
be prejudiced, but I think he does an outstanding job. He had
nothing to do with my web site, so don't think this web site
is an indicator of his abilities. Mine is strictly amateur, while
his is professional. Go to his site and see for yourself. You'll
be glad you did!!
- Carol's
Place
- If you enjoy country (music, cookin', humor, etc.), you owe
it to yourself to check out Carol's page. I met Carol through
the C.M.P. (civilian marksmanship program), where she works.
She knows all there is to know about the competitive shooting
programs.
- All
You Wanted To Know About Me
- Another friend I met playing spades on the internet. She's
really a sweetie. Married to a Marine. Lucky guy! Her name is
Kobi. NO, not named after the city in Japan or the beef that
originates there for you Marines who were stationed in JP.
- Crosswinds: Free
E-Mail and Free Unlimited WEB Space
- Naw, this isn't a friend per se, but, it sure seems to be.
If you are thinking of starting a WEB page, you owe it to yourself
to check out this provider. They've been there everytime I needed
them.
- CatWoman's
Corner
- This is a real net lady, married to Gunner Jim. She is responsible
for a number of web sites. Lot's of neat graphics and good info.
She has helped me a lot on my site. Tell's me in a New York minute
what she thinks of my site. :-(( LOL
Click on the page (in blue or purple) that you want
to go to.
